ASA 101 Basic Keelboat
The ASA 101 Basic Keelboat course is a full day beginning level sailing course for certification from the American Sailing Association. Participants will learn how to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat during the day in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Students will learn sailing terminology, points of sail, sail trim, seamanship, navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards, boating safety.
The course includes on-water instruction off of the coast of Honolulu and a written exam covering the contents of the textbook Sailing Made Easy. At the end of this course participants will be awarded the ASA Basic Keelboat 101 certificate which is recognized by yacht chartering companies worldwide.
